1. Registration & Health Requirements

All owners must complete a Client Registration Form before any grooming service is provided.

For the safety of all dogs:
• Dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date with boosters.
• Dogs must be regularly treated with vet-recommended parasite control (fleas, ticks, worms).
• Dogs showing signs of contagious illness, parasites, or general unwellness will not be accepted for grooming.

If a dog shows signs of illness or parasites while in our care:
• The dog will be isolated immediately.
• The owner (or emergency contact) must collect the dog as soon as possible.

2. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

If your dog becomes unwell or injured while in our care:
• We will contact you immediately.
• If necessary, we will seek veterinary treatment with your consent.

If we cannot reach you or your emergency contact and your dog’s health is at serious risk, we will act in the best interest of your dog and seek veterinary care.

All veterinary costs are the responsibility of the owner.

If you believe your dog has been injured due to the grooming process, a full written veterinary report stating the cause of injury while in our care must be provided before any liability can be considered.

3. Accidents & Grooming Risks

Although we take every precaution and handle dogs with care, grooming carries inherent risks.

Possible incidents may include:
• Minor cuts, nicks, or scratches
• Nail quicking
• Skin irritation
• Allergic reactions to grooming products

These incidents may occur especially if a dog moves suddenly or has sensitive skin. Every effort will be made to groom your dog as safely and comfortably as possible.

4. Anal Glands

Marry’s Pawfect Touch does not perform anal gland expression.

If you have concerns regarding your dog’s anal glands, please consult your veterinarian.

5. Health Conditions & Senior Dogs

Some medical, behavioural, or age-related conditions can make grooming stressful.

Owners must inform us of any:
• Heart conditions
• Arthritis
• Back or neck problems
• Skin conditions
• Anxiety or behavioural issues
• Any other medical diagnoses

We will adapt grooming procedures to reduce stress where possible. This may affect the final grooming style.

If a dog becomes overly stressed or shows signs of medical concern, we reserve the right to stop grooming and contact the owner.

6. Aggressive or Distressed Dogs

Owners must inform us if their dog:
• Has bitten previously
• Shows aggression toward people or other dogs
• Reacts negatively to grooming procedures

We reserve the right to refuse or stop grooming if a dog presents a risk to:
• Themselves
• Other dogs
• Marry or family staff members
• Other customers

Full or partial grooming fees may still apply.

7. Matted Coats

At Marry’s Pawfect Touch, your dog’s welfare always comes first.

Severely matted coats can:
• Cause pain
• Restrict movement
• Trap moisture and bacteria
• Lead to sores and infections

If matting is severe, we may need to clip the coat very short to remove matting safely. This will significantly change your dog’s appearance.

After mat removal, it is common to see:
• Skin irritation
• Redness
• Sores or hidden wounds
• Pre-existing skin infections

There is an increased risk of small cuts during de-matting due to hidden skin folds, warts, or moles.

Marry’s Pawfect Touch will not be held liable for:
• Issues resulting from the de-matting process
• Pre-existing conditions revealed after coat removal
• Veterinary treatment required as a result of matting

All vet fees remain the owner’s responsibility.

8. Fleas & Ticks

If fleas are found:
• A flea treatment shampoo will be applied.
• An additional fee will be charged.
• In severe infestations, we may stop grooming and request collection of your dog. Charges will still apply.

Ticks may be removed if safe to do so. We recommend veterinary follow-up.

9. Double-Coated Breeds

Clipping or shaving double-coated breeds carries risks, including:
• Slow or incomplete coat regrowth
• Change in coat texture
• Change in coat colour
• Coat damage

Shaving does not help regulate body temperature and may worsen overheating.

We strongly advise against shaving double-coated breeds. Regular bathing, blow-drying, and undercoat removal is recommended instead.

10. Cancellations & No-Shows

As a small family-run business, missed appointments significantly impact us.
• Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged up to the full appointment fee.
• No-shows will be charged the full grooming fee.

We understand emergencies happen, and discretion may be applied at our judgement.

11. Photography & Media

We may take photographs or videos of dogs while in our care for:
• Social media
• Marketing
• Website use
• Promotional materials

If you do not wish for your dog’s image to be used, please inform us in writing.

12. Personal Property

We are not responsible for:
• Lost or damaged collars, leads, or accessories
• Personal belongings left at the salon

13. Data Protection

Marry’s Pawfect Touch complies with UK data protection laws.

We:
• Only collect necessary information for bookings and emergency contact.
• Store data securely.
• Do not sell or share personal information with third parties.
• Will disclose information only if required by law.

In the event of a data breach, affected clients and the appropriate authorities will be notified in accordance with legal requirements.

14. Right to Refuse Service

Marry’s Pawfect Touch reserves the right to refuse service at any time if we believe it is in the best interest of:
• The dog
• Other dogs
• Our staff
• Our business

Agreement

By signing the Client Registration Form, you confirm that:
• You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.
• The information you have provided is accurate.
• You agree to comply with these terms.
